Hilary Swank Presented With Star On Walk Of Fame
Hilary Swank's mother always believed in her daughter, ever since she was a little girl, and knew she had the "It" factor to make it in Hollywood. 16 years later a mother's life-long aspiration for her daughter has come full circle before her very eyes.
On Monday, Swank received a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and recalled during the dedication ceremony how her mother knew from the start that the two-time Oscar winner was a star in her own right.
She explained, "I remember my mom using a roll of quarters to call agents from a pay phone and telling agents they should sign me."
The actress is best known for her role as Brandon Teena, a transgender young adult who was brutally assassinated in the early 90's, in "Boys Don't Cry" and a strong-willed boxer in "Million Dollar Baby," both of which won her an Oscar.
She can currently be seen in "Freedom Writers," a true story about a Long Beach English teacher who gives her students hope in the midst of interracial strife and conflict.
Swank has the 23235th star on the Walk Of Fame....Source: All Headline News
