Fashion Designer Stella McCartney Criticizes Use Of Fur
London, England (AHN) - Top fashion designer Stella McCartney has spoken out against wearing fur and has criticized other designers for continuing to feature it in their collections. According to new statistics, 1,000 tons of fur were imported into Britain last year and fur sales have risen 30 percent in two years.
Celebrities including Keira Knightley, Nicole Richie and Kate Moss have all been recently photographed wearing fur, and designers like Jean-Paul Gaultier, Julien Macdonald and Alexander McQueen are still putting clothing made from real fur on the runways.
World Entertainment News Network reported that McCartney told a newspaper, "There's nothing fashionable about a dead animal that has been cruelly killed just because some people think it looks cool to wear.
"The continuing use of fur is still a real problem in the fashion industry and there is an issue with people out there assuming that fur trim is fake when most of it is real."
McCartney, 35, is the daughter of former Beatle Paul McCartney...Source: All Headline News
